Quotes
All quotes are written and provided after an on-site visit. Verbal estimates over the phone are not binding. The written quote is binding for 30 days from the date of issue.
Hours of operation
Standard hours are Monday through Saturday, 7am to 7pm. Closed Sundays. Emergency calls are accepted during business hours and prioritized for property-damage situations. We do not offer round-the-clock or after-hours emergency service.
Payment terms
Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept e-transfer, credit card, and cheque. Invoices not paid within 30 days are subject to a 2% monthly late fee.
Cancellation
You can cancel a scheduled job up to 24 hours before the start time at no charge. Cancellations within 24 hours of the start time may be subject to a trip-charge fee equal to the smaller of $100 or 25% of the job total, depending on the situation.
Property and access
You agree to provide reasonable access to the work area, including any necessary keys, gate codes, or instructions for moving vehicles. You are responsible for marking utility lines if you have private underground services (sprinklers, low-voltage lighting, etc.). Ontario One Call covers public utilities only.
Tree bylaws and permits
Many south Ontario municipalities have tree protection bylaws on private property. It is your responsibility to obtain any required municipal permits before work begins. We can advise on the application but cannot file on your behalf without written authorization. We will not begin work on a permit-required tree without the permit in hand.
Risk and liability
Tree work involves inherent risks (falling debris, equipment, working at height). We take all reasonable precautions including site assessment, rigging, and equipment safety checks. However, by hiring us you acknowledge that some risk to property is inherent in tree work, particularly emergency removals and storm cleanup. Damage caused by negligence on our part is our responsibility; damage caused by pre-existing conditions on the tree (rotten core, hidden cracks, root system collapse) that could not reasonably have been identified during our site assessment is not.
Cleanup
Standard cleanup includes branch and debris haul-off, sawdust raking, and leaving the work area tidier than we found it. Cleanup does not include lawn raking of leaves not related to the job, removal of pre-existing debris, or restoration of damaged turf from access (turf damage is rare and we minimize it; minor turf scuffing from equipment access is normal).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario.
